EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Our client is a major contractor to the Defence Industry who NOW, due to expansion requiring the services of a Snr Systems Engineer with a background in the management of complex Defence/Naval systems. The main focus in this role would be to provide requirements, design, verification and validation support. Successful candidates will utilise their expertise in the current phase of the project, taking cognisance of cost and schedule constraints whilst ensuring adherence to processes as set down by the Systems Engineering Manager.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:

To be eligible for these positions you must posses the following mandatory requirements:

Familiarity with Australian or US Defence Systems Engineering standards;
Knowledge of Systems Engineering Standards (EIA-632 or IEEE 1220 or equivalent)and Systems Engineering tools (DOORS, Core, Matlab etc);
At least 3 years experience in an engineering discipline, practicing in one or more of the following areas: requirement definition, requirement management, requirement analysis design and verification and validation.

To support your qualifications, you will have excellent oral and written communication skills, intermediate level skills in office information systems applications such as Microsoft Office and the ability to work comfortably in a team environment.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Your key responsibility will involve the determination and implementation of integration solutions for some of the most advanced platforms within the Australian Defence Force's (ADF) inventory. Ideally, you will be familiar with managing the concerns associated with complex Defence project with significant MIL STD and COTS equipment and interfaces.Using the latest tools and technologies available, your input will be vital in ensuring these systems are integrated correctly - thus contributing to the success of the Australian Defence Force. Idea candidates will have gained experience on SEA, LAND or AIR projects within a Defence framework or have similar experience working on complex projects within an Automotive or associated Heavy industries.The following points represent the core roles and responsibilities:

Carry out System analysis & System Design tasks;
Design, verify, refine and document requirements;
Manage systems design specifications and ensure system architecture compatibility;
Maintain systems architecture documentation;
Conduct and maintain documentation relating to technical risk analysis;
Plan, document and execute verification and validation activities;
Manage projects technical execution.
