EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Our client is a preferred supplier to the Australian Defence Force, with major contracts on the way, there is a need for an experienced Combat Systems Engineer to join the team in Adelaide. This position will grant the successful individual the opportunity to perform the role of Subject Matter Expert (SME) in relation to all Electrical/Hardware Interfacing concerns, briefing Senior Staff on the concerns associated with the design, analysis, implementation, test and lifecycle support of nominated hardware components, modules, subsystems and configuration items of a contemporary Naval combat System.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
To be successful in applying for this position you will be familiar with key Australian and US Defence Systems Engineering standards: • EIA 632 • IEEE 1220 • MIL STD 498
You will ideally have experience in the testing and integrating equipment and associated Sub Systems fitted to modern ADF units. Successful candidates will have additional experience in Test and Trial Validation to Mil. Std coupled with experience in specification and technical report writing. Ideally, your experience in various roles such as Project Management, CS or ILS Engineering would be highly valuable. Such experience is likely to have been gained whilst working directly in the integration of contemporary Land, Sea or Air Combat Systems. You must be either a Tertiary Qualified Engineer or a Technical Officer with considerable experience to be eligible for this position.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Your role will involve much more than reporting to the relevant Project Manager. This position will grant you the opportunity to work with the customer, other prime contractors and sub contractors - an ideal opportunity to build upon your network within the industry. Working with these departments and bodies, your key responsibility will involve the determination and implementation of integration solutions for one of the most advanced platform within the Australian Defence Force's (ADF) inventory. Ideally, you will be familiar with managing the concerns associated with the electrical hardware support of a complex Defence project with significant MIL STD and COTS equipment and interfaces. This experience may have been gained on SEA, LAND of AIR projects within a Defence framework.
Due to nature of this position, the successful applicant must be an Australian Citizen and hold or be eligible to obtain a Department of Defence Security Clearance.
