EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Our client is Australia’s leading provider of systems engineering, project management and supply chain management services to the Defence industry. Presently, an opportunity exists for an experienced Systems Architect to join the consulting team in Canberra, ACT. Ideally, you would need to be professionally qualified Engineer with experience in Defence Naval Communication.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

To be successful in applying for this position you will be familiar with key Australian and US Defence Systems Engineering standards:

EIA 632
IEEE 1220
MIL STD 498

You will ideally have experience in the testing and integrating equipment and associated Systems fitted to modern ADF units. Successful candidates will have additional experience in Test and Trial Validation to Mil. Std coupled with experience in specification, requirement analysis and verification and validation. Such experience is likely to have been gained whilst working directly in the integration of contemporary Land, Sea or Air Combat Systems. You must be a tertiary qualified Engineer or Project Manager with considerable experience on Defence-Naval projects to be eligible for this position.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will grant you the opportunity to work with the customer, other prime contractors and sub contractors - an ideal opportunity to build upon your network within the industry. Working with these departments and bodies, your key responsibility will involve conducting systems engineering tasks in Defence acquisition projects, including:

Requirements analysis activities using requirements management software tools, within a Defence-Aerospace framework;
Managing verification and Validation activities;
Managing System Safety activities; and
Project Management

To be successful in applying for this role, you must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to gain and maintain a Department of Defence Security Clearance.
