EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Our client is a major Defence Supplier with an impressive array of Major Projects currently underway. Unprecedented recent growth and consulting success has now provided an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineering Manager to join a growing team in Sydney.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
To be successful in applying for this position you will be a formally qualified professional in the Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical field coupled with relevant experience in the defence engineering environment.

Mandatory requirements include:
  • A technical (Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical) qualification and relevant experience
  • A Graduate Member (GradIEAust) or a Graduate Technologist (GradTIEAust) of IEAust, or possesses qualifications and professional development sufficient to satisfy IEAust entry as either
  • Experience in analysis, design, development, test and maintenance of IT Systems, Command and Control Systems, Communications Systems or other complex, multi-disciplinary systems
  • A background in light electro-mechanical based manufacturing and systems engineering
  • Experience in configuration management
  • Experience and understanding of military engineering standards and procedures
  • Management experience preferred
  • Experience in managing multiple small projects simultaneously
  • CMMI, ISO9001 or similar process engineering and quality system experience
  • Experience in delivering Defence projects

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties will include but will not be limited to:

  • Provide professional engineering advice supporting the design, manufacture and certification of engineering systems
  • Approve or recommend for approval engineering artefacts
  • Advise and guide staff in the application and implementation of engineering processes
  • Work with sales and bid management teams in the preparation of proposals
  • Work directly with customer representatives in determining their requirements, and delivering outcomes
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of staff via staff meetings, written communications and one-on-one communication Interact and work with management/employees to promote teamwork
  • Attend regular organisational meetings required to co-ordinate with colleagues
  • Other related duties as assigned

Due to the nature of this role, the successful applicant will need to be an Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
