Who Are We?

Defence Directions was founded by Adam Waldie,MBA with the sole purpose of providing a specialised recruitment consultancy servicing Defence Industry.

Adam spent twelve years as a seagoing Officer with the Royal Australian Navy (RAN); seven of those years spend within the Submarine Force Element Group (FEG).

Whilst with the RAN, Adam completed a Masters of Business Administration majoring in Human Resource Management. During his Naval Career, Adam developed a professional relationship with many of the Prime Contractors engaged by the ADF.

It was the sense of achievement in teaming with Defence Industry to achieve a common goal that prompted Adam to move into recruitment upon leaving the RAN and thereby continue to provide a professional service to both the ADF and Defence Industry.

Upon leaving the military, Adam commenced working successfully in the field of recruitment but continued to identify the lack of a truly specialised recruitment service tailored specifically for Defence Industry. With such a service unavailable, Adam started his own company - Defence Directions; to provide that service.

Today, Defence Directions is proud to be the first point of call for many professionals, including;

• Personnel departing the military and seeking career advice,
• Engineering, IT and Technical professionals working within Defence Industry seeking advice on further career opportunities, and
• Management within Defence Industry seeking high caliber personnel for both Permanent and Contractual employment.
